Havana, April 21 (RHC) - The Cuban Contemporary Dance (DCC) group will begin today in Havana, a season that includes the world premiere of Hands On, choreography by the Greek Yannis Mantsis.

In the Avellaneda hall of the National Theater, April will close with presentations that will last for two weekends and will also have the play Dust, words, shadows, nothing, by George Céspedes.

The group has the Artistic Direction of Miguel Iglesias, National Dance Award 2018.

According to cultural reviews, the piece Hands On addresses the natural processes of change and redefinition that human beings assume based on their will and commitment.

The Cuban Contemporary Dance is the mother company of the Cuban modern dance movement and its repertoire includes works by renowned Cuban and foreign choreographers who have been praised by international critics and applauded in major theaters around the world.

It is headquartered in the National Theater of Cuba and was founded on September 25, 1959. Since then, it has made more than ninety tours of countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa, and has participated in the most important festivals and dance events throughout world level.
