Venezuelan Navy training ship arrives in Cuba

The training ship Simón Bolívar, of the Navy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, arrived Saturday in Cuba on an official visit.

Havana, May 13 (RHC)-- The training ship Simón Bolívar, of the Navy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, arrived Saturday in Cuba on an official visit.

During its entry into the Port of Havana, it fired 21 salvos as a salute to the nation, reciprocated by an artillery battery of the Revolutionary Armed Forces from the San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress.

The ship was received by the captain and second chief of the Revolutionary Navy, José Luis Souto Galindo, together with representatives of the Venezuelan embassy in Havana.

During their stay in the country, the Venezuelan sailors will carry out a program of activities that includes courtesy visits to the chief of the Revolutionary Navy, the Governor of Havana and tours to places of historical and cultural interest.

The ship will be open to visitors from May 14th to the 16th, from 10:00 to 18:00, local time.
