Havana, June 1 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulated on Thursday all Cuban children on the occasion of International Children's Day (June 1).

In his Twitter account, the president defined the country's infants as the most precious treasure of the Homeland.

On this date, the head of the Cuban Government, Manuel Marrero Cruz, recalled the phrase of José Martí, our National Hero: "We work for children, because children are the ones who know how to love, because children are the hope of the world".

For his part, on the same social network, Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the CC-PCC said: "For you we will have to continue giving everything for the better future that we dream of and that you deserve".

Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power, sent many congratulations to the girls and boys, while assuring his commitment to Marti's ideology of continuing to work for children.

Cuba celebrates International Children's Day in the context of the First International Congress on Childhood and Adolescence 'Growing up to the Future', which will be held until Tuesday at the Plaza America Convention Center in the seaside resort city of Varadero, in the western province of Matanzas.

The event will discuss public policies for children, adolescents and youths in the country.
