Havana, June 22 (RHC) - French solidarity and cooperation associations have welcomed the presence of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel in Paris to attend the summit for a New World Financial Pact and fulfilling an intense agenda.

Associations, including France Cuba, Cuba Linda, Cuba Si France, and Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop), have wished success to the president and highlighted his participation in the two-day forum at the Palais de la Bourse in Paris as president of the Group of 77 plus China, which brings together 134 of the 193 UN member states.

These organizations are very active on French soil in support of the island nation and have considered Díaz-Canel's presence in France as further proof of the failure of the United States' attempt to isolate Cuba, despite the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade.

Regarding climate change, which is one of the main topics of the summit, the organizations acknowledged Cuba's efforts to protect the environment, despite the limitations caused by the U.S. blockade.

France Cuba, Cuba Linda, Cuba Si France, and CubaCoop have taken advantage of the visit of the dignitary to reiterate their solidarity with the Caribbean country and demand the immediate lifting of the blockade, which has been in place for over six decades.

They have also defended Cuba's right to choose its economic and social system in a sovereign manner and urged the French government not to bow to Washington's hostile measures to suffocate it.

Díaz-Canel arrived in Paris last night and has carried out several activities since then. He participated in the opening ceremony of the summit and held talks with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay. (Source: PL)
