Miami organizations slam European Parliament’s interference against Cuba

Washington, Jul 15 (RHC) Organizations of Cuban emigrants based in Miami expressed their rejection of a recent resolution issued by the European Parliament (EP) against Cuba.

The Martiana Coalition, the José Martí USA Cultural Association, RadioMiamiToday, Pazamor, the Antonio Maceo Brigade, the Bolivarian Circle and the Alianza Martiana described the EP’s interference as outrageous.

These parliamentarians forget that our homeland is not a colony of Spain and let alone the United States, stressed the group’s statement signed by Elena Freyre, president of the Coalición Martiana.

Freyre recalled “the Cuban people have been suffering the worst blockade in history” for over 60 years and in spite of this “they have not stopped sending doctors and health assistance to other nations, even in Europe”.

These are just slander and lies by the European Parliament, but Cuba is not alone, “it has the respect and admiration of millions of men and women around the globe”.

“Don’t mess with Cuba”, “Cuba is Love” and “No more Blockade!”, concluded the message. This rejection was joined by members of the Women in Struggle movement.

We stand in solidarity with the Cuban people and government that does send armies, but armies of teachers, doctors, firefighters and emergency personnel, the movement said in a statement to Prensa Latina.

The European Parliament resolution, which deals with the EU-Cuba cooperation and political dialogue agreement, reflects once again the imperialist interference by the United States that causes more wars and political instability in the world.

The Women in Struggle claimed that Cuba overflows love, instead of weapons, promotes and embraces negotiation as it has very well demonstrated in its role in favor of peace in Colombia.

The National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP) condemned the aforementioned anti-Cuban maneuver, warning that it has a highly interfering content, defames Cuba´s reality and has double standards when it comes to making judgments on issues that do not pay attention in the same member states.
