Cuban president congratulates Brazil on Independence Day

Havana, September 7 (RHC) -- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated Thursday the people and government of Brazil on Independence Day.

This day marks the 201st anniversary of the Grito de Ipiranga (September 7, 1822).

For his part, the Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, sent congratulations to the Brazilian people, and expressed the will of the Caribbean nation to continue building brotherly relations.

The South American giant celebrates this important anniversary with the theme 'Democracy, sovereignty and union', and a gigantic parade in the Esplanade of the Ministries, in Brasilia.
