Havana, October 26 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez affirmed on Wednesday that the United Nations Security Council (UN) has once again demonstrated its incapacity to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

"The UN Security Council, once again, demonstrates its inability to stop the massacre against the Palestinian people.  Its emergency session today ended without approving either of the two proposed resolutions," he published in his X account.

According to the Cuban foreign minister, the United States presented a proposal that "deliberately omitted the call for a ceasefire and the need to stop the massacre, protect civilians and stop forced displacement."

In turn, Rodríguez denounced that Washington's "irresponsibility" in dealing with this crisis and its support for Israel's "unacceptable" acts brought as a consequence the initiative rejected by the Security Council.  He also recalled that the U.S. and other countries did not approve the Russian proposal on Palestine, which called for an immediate cease-fire, condemned attacks against civilians, requested the reversal of Israel's intention to force the displacement of the population of Gaza and urged the sending of humanitarian aid.

Finally, the Cuban diplomat ratified "the total paralysis" of the Security Council in the face of the Palestinian crisis, while the Ministry of Health of the Gaza Strip has reported at least 6,500 deaths due to the incessant bombardment by the Zionist army.

Last October 18, the United States was the only country to veto a resolution presented by Brazil requesting the establishment of humanitarian pauses in the Gaza Strip and the revocation of the order imposed by Israel on the evacuation of civilians and UN personnel to the north of the enclave.
