Havana, November 2 (RHC) -- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel denounced Wednesday that for more than 30 years the United States has ignored and disrespected the international community at the United Nations General Assembly by maintaining and reinforcing the blockade.

Through his account in X, the president added that his country will continue to insist and present before that body the report Necessity of putting an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.

The debate on the resolution presented by the island, which has received the support of speakers from all continents, began this Monday at the United Nations.

The resolution, which estimates the damages caused by that policy in the order of four thousand 867 million dollars, between March 1, 2022 and February 28, 2023, will be voted on tomorrow.

In total, the economic damages based on current prices amount to 159 billion 84.3 million dollars, and to more than one trillion 337 thousand, taking into account the behavior of the dollar against the value of gold in the international market.

The effects of the compendium of measures exceed 405 million dollars per month, equivalent to one million dollars every two hours (Source: Prensa Latina).
