Cuba and Russia sign economic-trade cooperation plan

 

Havana, Nov 2 (RHC) The governments of Russia and Cuba signed in Moscow a commercial and economic cooperation plan until 2030 to promote the growth of bilateral trade and increased investments.

The document was signed by the deputy prime ministers Dmitri Chernishenko and Ricardo Cabrisas, and is aimed at increasing commercial, economic and scientific-technical cooperation, stimulating the growth of trade and investments and strengthening ties between business communities.

The two also examined bilateral projects, including the construction of solar stations in Cuba, a full-cycle agro-industrial enterprise for the cultivation and processing of sugar cane, the production of fertilizers, as well as various infrastructures.

Chernishenko assured that it is of great importance to consolidate cooperation to work in the energy sphere, in order to create favorable conditions for Russian investments in the economy of the Caribbean nation.

They also addressed issues related to the development of tourism and highlighted that, in the first half of the current year, more than 60 thousand Russian vacationers visited Cuba, a trend that is increasing.

With this objective, the Russian Ministry of Transport will increase the number of flights to reach 10 weekly by the end of the year.

The Russian side proposed that the 21st meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission be held in Moscow in the second half of February 2024 to check the progress of the agreements. (Source: PL)
