Cuba reaffirms ties of friendship and cooperation with the DPRK

Havana, February 16 (RHC) Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel reaffirmed this Friday the historic ties of friendship, cooperation and brotherhood that unite his country and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Regarding the 82nd anniversary of the birth of the hero Kim Jong Il, Díaz-Canel noted in his X profile that the Caribbean nation remembers his legacy, and conveyed an affectionate greeting to the Party, Government and noble people of the DPRK.

For his part, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez stressed that the relations of friendship, cooperation and mutual support between both nations are historical and invariable, based on the legacy of the fraternal relationship of the historical leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro, and leader comrade Kim II Sung.

For more than six decades, Havana and Pyongyang have maintained close cooperation and agree on international issues, including Pyongyang's condemnation of the US blockade of Cuba. Meanwhile, the largest island in the Antilles advocates peace on the Korean peninsula. (Source: PL)
