Havana, April 22 (RHC)-- More than 250 members from all continents make up the XVII International Brigade of Voluntary Work and Solidarity with Cuba May 1, which is hosting the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP)

The members of the XVII May First Brigade, to be held from this Monday until next May 4, together with the members of the Ernesto Che Guevara Brigade of Canada, will participate in the celebrations for International Workers' Day , the organization reported.

According to the ICAP call, during their stay in Cuba the brigade members will be able to acquire greater knowledge about the current reality and the transformations of the country, despite the intensified policy of economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against the Caribbean nation.

The actions include the usual volunteer work days, visits to places of historical, economic, cultural and social interest and exchanges with the people and representatives of different organizations.

During their stay on the island, the brigade members will carry out an extensive program that, in addition to the capital, extends to the provinces of Artemisa (west) and Cienfuegos (center) and fundamentally the headquarters of the “Julio Antonio Mella” International Camp, located in the municipality of Caimito, 45 kilometers west of the Cuban capital.
