The telecare service seeks to alleviate feelings of loneliness and provide a sense of security for individuals in a vulnerable position

Havana, May 3 (RHC) The Ministry of Labor and Social Security is set to launch the Telecare service, a remote-based solution aimed at enhancing the independence and well-being of individuals who, due to their age, health issues, or disabilities, require assistance.

This initiative will be tested in six municipalities across the provinces of Havana, Artemisa, Mayabeque, Villa Clara, and Santiago de Cuba.

The service will be accessible to older adults or individuals with disabilities who reside alone for extended periods or for most of the day, and also to those who share similar circumstances despite living with others.

Caregivers and support staff will be equipped with telecare devices, allowing for constant monitoring and swift response to potential hazards.

The municipal departments of labor and social security will be in charge of training the social workers who will be directly responsible for the provision of services and the rest of the personnel working in the areas.

The telecare service seeks to alleviate feelings of loneliness and provide a sense of security for individuals in a vulnerable position, while also supporting caregivers in their efforts to provide care that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being. (Source: Radio Reloj)
