Havana, June 24 (RHC)-- The Network of Intellectuals, Artists, and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity (Redh) called on the peoples of the world to mobilize for peace this Monday, through a letter signed by respected figures.

In the letter, it states that the US bombing of three nuclear facilities in Iranian territory is now added, as a fateful imperial incursion, to the genocide in the Gaza Strip, the targeted attacks and assassinations in other countries in the region, the escalation of the war against Iran; in short, to Israel's criminal rampage.

Furthermore, it describes US President Donald Trump as arrogant and obscene, as he “boasts about the effectiveness of his army and the blow he has struck on the international stage.”

“He seems to ignore that this spiral of violence could lead not to his desired American peace, but to a true apocalypse,” it adds.

The Network also endorses the words of Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez: “Peace through strength is an imperialist doctrine that attempts to impose terror, arms, and global destabilization as a means to sustain the hegemonic collapse of the United States. It rests on the notion that those who possess might are right.”

The text warns that fascism is the enemy of democracy and all civilized forms of human coexistence. Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu are its contemporary expressions.

At the end of its letter, alarmed by the current situation, the Redh condemns the attacks, which suggest an even greater escalation, and calls for the resumption of negotiations so that any disagreements can be resolved through dialogue and a confrontation with unforeseeable consequences can be avoided.

In this way, it calls on the peoples of the world to mobilize for peace and demands an end to the warlike aggression against Iran and the occupation of Palestine.

The letter is signed by renowned figures from countries such as Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, the United States, Mexico, Spain, Ecuador, and others, including the intellectual and president of the Cuban institution Casa de las Américas, and Argentine Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Pérez Esquivel.
