Cuban President Raul Castro to Attend Victory Parade in Moscow

Moscow, April 21 (RHC) –- Cuban President Raul Castro is slated to attend the Victory Day Parade in Moscow, held every May 9th in the Russian capital to mark yet another anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in 1945.

The Cuban leader's visit was announced in Moscow by Russian Senate President Valentina Matviyenko, following her meeting with Cuban Vice President of the Council of Minsters, Ricardo Cabrisas.

Other world leaders expected to attend this year's Victory Parade are the President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolić, President of Vietnam, Trương Tấn Sang, President of China, Xi Jinping, the First Chairman of the National Defense Commission of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, and the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.

On May 9th, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will also deliver his twelfth holiday address to the nation. Being a landmark jubilee parade honoring the 70th anniversary of the Allied victory in the European continent, this year's parade is also expected to be one of the biggest and largest to be held in Russian history.
