Havana, December 16 (RHC-PL) -- Costa Rican President Luis Guillermo Solis said in Havana that his country's relations with Cuba will be more intense. Solis thanked the government and the people of Cuba during his official visit and said that the objectives of the trip were successfully met. "We reaffirm the importance of Cuba's foreign policy, as being a key player in the Caribbean basin.

At a news conference in the Cuban capital on Tuesday, the Costa Rican head of state said that there has been a rapprochement between the Costa Rican business sector and Cuban institutions. "We're carrying out more than 100 business meetings between our delegation and their Cuban counterparts, and that is great news," said the Costa Rican leader.

On Tuesday, before concluding his two-day official state visit, Solis paid tribute to Cuba's National Hero Jose Marti at the base of the monument that bears his name, and met with his Cuban counterpart, Raul Castro, at the Palace of the Revolution.
