Havana, February 3 (RHC)-- The Cuban Health Ministry says that there is no evidence of the Zika virus on the island, while specialists follow all fever syndromes to early detect cases of Zika, Chikungunya or Dengue.

The announcement on the Ministry of Health´s website Infomed.sld.cu emphasizes that Cuba is adopting all measures to prevent the entrance of the ZIKA virus and to cut its transmission in case a person infected with the disease enters the country.

The most important step to take to prevent the transmission of ZIKA, Chikungunya or Dengue is the elimination of mosquitoes, and for this people must clean all possible mosquito-breeding grounds, reads the announcement.

In 2015, Dengue spread in some Cuban provinces and 28 Chikungunya imported cases were detected. In 2016, there has not been any case of Chikungunya reported.
