Miami, July 9 (RHC)-- The Miami-based Alianza Martiana Coalition has called for a car caravan this coming Saturday, July 14th, to demand the lifting of Washington's nearly six decades-old blockade policy toward Cuba.

The solidarity activists said they will also call for fully normalized relations between the United States and Cuba and the immediate repeal of travel restrictions imposed on U.S. citizens under Washington's siege against the Caribbean state.

Andrés Gómez, national coordinator of the Antonio Maceo brigade, one of the organizations making up the Alianza, termed as cruel and arbitrary the latest anti-Cuba maneuvers by the Trump Administration, vowing to continue rallying against the blockade for as long as that genocidal policy remains in place.

The car caravan has a precedent in similar activities of previous months and years in support of Cuban causes.  The last car caravan in Miami took place earlier this year, on March 10th, with demonstrators protesting Washington's decision a few days earlier to withdraw over half of its diplomatic staff from its embassy in Havana.
