European Cardiology Society Highlights Cuban Advancements

Havana, June 4 (RHC) – The president of the European Cardiology Society, Portuguese Faustino Pinto, stressed the development and advancements of the specialty in Cuba and announced that the Cuban Cardiology Society will soon become a member of the European scientific organization.

The European expert made the announcement at the 8th Cuban Cardiology Congress, underway till Friday in Havana with the attendance of 600 specialists from 20 countries.

It is an honor for us to have Cuba as a member, which will contribute to the strengthening of relations between our peoples, said Faustino Pinto, who visits the island for the first time.

Participants at the Congress are analyzing the latest advancements in Cardiology, including the most recent achievements in cardiovascular surgery and anesthesiology, and other proceedings.

The European Cardiology Society is the largest organization of its kind in the world and it groups 90 thousand members, 56 European societies and 38 from other countries, including Latin America.
