Cuban President Raul Castro Holds Talks with Ecuadorian Vice President

Havana, July 11 (RHC) -– Cuban President Raul Castro met on Thursday with the visiting Vice President of Ecuador, Jorge Glas Espinel, to promote the further strengthening of economic and diplomatic ties between their nations.

According to this morning's edition of Granma newspaper, the two leaders expressed their countries willingness to expand bilateral relations to all areas and discussed issues of regional and international relevance.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Ricardo Patiño, Ecuador's Foreign Minister, and Edgar Ponce, Quito's ambassador to Havana, as well as by Eduardo E. Mangas, adviser to the vice president.

Miguel Díaz-Canel, Cuba's First Vice President, and Bruno Rodriguez and Rodrigo Malmierca, the Cuban foreign minister and minister of foreign trade and investment, respectively, completed the Cuban side.
