Cuban President Raul Castro Holds Talks with Laotian Deputy Prime Minister

Havana, June 18 (RHC) -– Cuban President Raul Castro held talks on Wednesday with Laotian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thoungloun Sisoulith, who is paying an official visit to Cuba.

The historic and good relations between Laos and Cuba and the need to further expand bilateral cooperation were high on the agenda of the meeting.

The Laotian top government official was accompanied by Thongsavanh Phomvihane, deputy chief of Foreign Relations of the Central Committee of the Laos PDR, and Ambassador to Cuba Buakeo Phumvongsay, among other officials.

Earlier on Wednesday, the distinguished visitor held a meeting with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez. Both leaders stressed their willingness to continue to develop the political and economic relationship between their countries.

Thongloun Sisoulith also paid a visit to the Center of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, where he expressed interest in Cuba's advances in the treatment of patients with HIV-AIDS.
