Watching over state resources destined to the creation of goods and the satisfaction of the needs of Cuban society, is the primary objective of the auditing exercises carried out throughout the national territory.
Created 14 years ago, the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic is responsible for this important activity, whose mission is to educate, teach and contribute to make the administration of the different entities as efficient as possible.
Now and until October 30, the National Internal Control Check, the largest annual audit exercise to detect deficiencies and work on their elimination, is being carried out.
The current practice aimed at the business sector seeks to check the investment process to import-export, through the production chains, an aspect that should be given impetus in the country to contribute to economic performance.
Thus, in the center of attention are companies of the agri-food industry, cargo and passenger transportation and construction materials and their contribution to the national housing plan, which presents difficulties and delays.
The activity of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources is also evaluated due to the importance of the service it provides to the population.
This is the fifteenth activity of this type to be carried out at the national level, which was resumed last year after the interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some 200 control actions are carried out by auditors, experts and university students of accounting, economics, law, industrial engineering and short-cycle audit specialty, who received intensive training.
This verification is part of the strategy to advance in the improvement and transformation of the socialist state enterprise.
In this regard, the Comptroller General of the Republic, Gladys Bejerano, pointed out that the purpose of this exercise is part of the effort to help the administrations to manage the entities with order, discipline, exigency and control.
Preventing illegalities and deficiencies is the essence of these checks, which are a tool for a better and more efficient performance of the socialist state enterprise, called to be the main actor of the Cuban economy.
