Israel is responsible for the death or injury of a child every 10 minutes in the Gaza Strip, a chilling statistic that reveals a perverse conception of life, capable of taking us in the 21st century to the darkest moments in the history of humanity.

The statistics were provided by the United Nations Children's Fund, Unicef, after an inspection of the areas bombed by the Zionist regime's aircraft, which pretends to justify its crimes with a twisted idea of the right to defense.

Everything indicates that the Zionist leaders, among them Benjamin Netanyahu who defends his government behind a mountain of corpses, have already lost all notion of humanity, values, ethics and dignity and their only possibility is to go on until their own hatred consumes them.

According to Tess Ingram, Unicef communications specialist, an immediate and effective ceasefire is the only way to stop the killing and maiming of children.

It is necessary, she added, to increase the number of medical evacuations so that children can receive essential care and repair, at least physically, their wounds.

One thing that is now inevitable is that the child survivors of this genocide, whether they were injured or not, will be forever scarred by the magnitude of the tragedy and their lives will be fractured from now on by the brutality that was imposed on them.

"These children became the faces of war. From devastating injuries from bombings, to the trauma of being caught in violent clashes, their stories present a heartbreaking picture of the human consequences of the conflict," Ingram recounted.

Zionist brutality is not only causing unfathomable pain in the present, it sows deep hatreds and fears that no one knows at what point in the future they will turn against the aggressors and their descendants.

That is something that Netanyahu and the powers that are supporting and protecting him, including the United States and the United Kingdom, have not yet been able to grasp.

Every war leaves incurable wounds, no matter how much we try to ignore them, and this one will be no exception.

For the time being, everything indicates that the Israeli regime intends to follow to the letter that phrase of Lady Macbeth, a brutal character created by Shakespeare, that "we have sailed so far in the lake of blood, that it is easier to reach the other shore than to try to return".  There they are.
