New song dedicated to Cuban delegation to Olympic Games in Tokyo

Havana, May 28 (RHC)-- ‘La estrella de mi voluntad’ is the title of a new song written by Israel Rojas, leader of popular Buena Fe duo, released earlier this week.

It is inspired by Cuban athletes, who will represent the country at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

It mixes contemporary Cuban and foreign sounds.

Featured artists are Leonard Akosta and Rapsodia & Duo Iris --exponents of different music styles.

The lyrics, said Israel, speaks about the huge sacrifices athletes make, from a very young age, training really hard on a daily basis, until the moment when they are selected to represent their country at the Olympic Games and then when they achieve an Olympic Medal –their motivations and aspirations.

‘It is like telling the story of our people’s long resistance over many years now. That is why we say that they are doing this for all of us, who would love to be like them, be in their shoes, when they climb the podium.’

Israel thanked the musicians who collaborate in this tune. He said the tune will remind the athletes that they are not alone, that they have the support of an entire people, 10 million Cubans, who will give them strength, follow and cheer them from home.
