Havana, July 21 (RHC)-- Messages of solidarity with and support for Cuba, its sovereignty and independence, its people and their inalienable right to self-determination continue pouring in from around the world in response to the new anti-Cuba crusade launched by Washington and its lackeys in and outside Cuba.

One of those messages come from the organizing committee of the Poetry Festival in Mexico.

It reads: ‘Today, more than ever before, for the sake of Cuba, its people and all of Latin America, we raise our voices to defend every people’s right to their self-determination. We urge, just as 184 countries did recently at the UN General Assembly, the lifting of Washington’s blockade against the Caribbean island state.’

Organizers of the Poetry Festival in Mexico further expressed that only Cubans can solve their own problems without foreign interference. And they further charged: ‘All of us have a duty to denounce and demand the lifting of the genocidal blockade that the Cuban people have been subjected to by US imperialism, for the economic and human damage the blockade has caused ordinary Cubans over nearly 60 years.’

The Mexican writers noted how Washington’s economic siege against Cuba has been further tightened amidst the covid-19 pandemic. ‘Preserving Cuba’s freedom and national sovereignty is key to achieving Latin America’s freedom and independence,’ they concluded.
