Havana, July 24 (RHC)-- Israel Rojas and Yoel Martinez, members of the Cuban duo Buena Fe, are already in Mexico to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks.

Owners of an extensive discography, with compositions almost all of them by Israel, the duo will share this Sunday a long day for the anniversary, which marks the beginning of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution with revolutionary leader Fidel Castro at its head.

The party will be held at the heliport of Los Pinos, the former residence of the President of Mexico, now converted into the Chapultepec Forest Cultural Complex, one of the busiest in the country.

It will be a long celebration, starting at 10:00 local time and ending at 20:00, but the event has a very varied program for the satisfaction of the attendees.

There will be an exhibition and sales of Cuban and Mexican books and handicrafts, a showcase of the island's food, much sought-after in Mexico, and performances by Los Guajiros and Buena Fe, while a dance enlivened by David Alvarez and Juego de Manos, and the Son 14 orchestra, is planned for the closing ceremony.

It is a celebration in style and very significant for Mexico because this is where Fidel, Raul Castro, Erenesto "Che" Guevara and other fighters of the Moncada expedition was launched by Fidel, Raul Castro, Erenesto "Che" Guevara and other fighters of the Moncada, once they were released from prison on the then Isla de Pinos, today the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud.

The celebration is sponsored by Mexico's Ministry of Culture, through the Los Pinos Cultural Complex, with the support of the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, the José Martí Association of Cuban Residents and other friendly institutions.

The celebration is the culmination of a large number of activities that have taken place in the Mexican capital and states in the interior of the country, including a march and rally in support of Cuba in front of the U.S. embassy and other demonstrations of support, which still remain until July 26, National Rebellion Day.
