According to the Press Office of the Film Festival House, the inscriptions, which remained open since March 21 of this year, surpassed the figure of 2,000 works between films, scripts and posters.

The event, which will take place in Havana from December 8 to 17, 2023, is being held in the categories of Feature Fiction, Opera Prima, Feature Film, Documentary, Short Film and Animation.

For this 44th edition, works produced in the years 2022 and 2023 were accepted; the official selection will be made public in the days prior to the film event.

The Festival is a relevant event for the promotion of Latin American cinema, and throughout its history has been responsible for recognizing and disseminating cinematographic works that contribute, based on their significance and artistic values, to the enrichment and reaffirmation of Latin American and Caribbean cultural identity.
