Havana, September 27 (RHC) -- The Mexican Film Festival is underway until October 1, at the 23 and 12 movie theater, the Cinemateca's regular venue, with the screening of six films, accompanied by a broadcast of the renowned ICAIC Latin American News.

The films offer a look at Mexico's diverse cinematographic panorama and their themes reflect a variety of genres, styles and social complexities, according to a press conference.

Santiago Ruy Sánchez, cultural attaché of the diplomatic mission of that country in Cuba, highlighted this opportunity to show the new faces of Mexican cinema with contemporary productions.

He also thanked the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industries (Icaic) and the Cinemateca de Cuba for their support to the Festival.

The big screen will open on this opening day with the feature film Mano de Obra (2019) by director David Zonana, and Morirse en domingo (2006), by David Gruener, will also be screened.

On the 28th, Las Oscuras primaveras (2014), by Ernesto Contreras and Marioneta (2019), by Álvaro Curiel, will be screened in a special screening with a presentation by screenwriter Arturo Arango.

On Friday 29, the film El elegido (2016), by Antonio Chavarrías, will follow, and the films previously shown in different batches will be repeated until the closing day, with the addition of the film Sueño en otro idioma (2017), by Ernesto Contreras. (Source:PL)
