Havana, July 9 (RHC) Cuban Roberto Garcia Pantoja was victorious in his fifth match and he is one of the four contenders that are aiming to displace Argentinian Alan Pichot from first position in the Continental Chess Tournament taking place in Sao Paolo, Brazil until July 13th.

Garcia Pantoja defeated local Marcus Vinicio Santos  and shares the 2nd place with Venezuelan Eduardo Iturrizaga, Brazilian Luis Paulo Supi and Argentinian Federico Perez with 4,5 points.
