Havana, December 10 (JIT)-- Raul Fornes, first vice president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder), received David Zobda, mayor of the city of Lamentin of Martinique, at the headquarters of the organization, and agreed to increase sports collaboration between the two countries.

The distinguished guest made a visit to Cuba accompanied by his work team with the objective of launching bilateral cooperation in several sectors including sports and in particular between the cities of Lamentin and Santiago de Cuba, with 25 years of twinning.

In the exchange with the Cuban executive, David Zobda, showed interest in the possible signing of an agreement with the Inder, which will allow to carry out in three years an analysis of the prospects of muscle activity in his country and develop Sport for All, physical education, medicine applied to sport, science and high performance, among others.

"Sport is a global social phenomenon that can provide many answers to the problems of youth and that can allow everyone to feel good within the society of Martinique," said the visitor.

He added that they have good facilities, among them the Olympic swimming pool, a sports palace that hosts international events, the stadium where soccer and athletics are practiced and in two years they are going to inaugurate an accommodation center for 200 people, but what they need now is the motivation to promote sports, so they hope to count on Cuba to develop these projects.
