Havana, January 22 (RHC)-- The Cibao Giants are one step away from winning the Dominican Baseball League crown by defeating the Eastern Stars 5-3 at the Julian Javier Stadium in San Francisco de Macoris.

Three important hits were enough for the Cibao team to leave their rivals lying down: a home run and a double by Kelvin Gutiérrez, which drove in four runs, and a single by Cuban Henry Urrutia, which guaranteed the fifth run.

Colts pitcher Enny Romero, threw five innings of two hits, one run, two bases and two strikeouts to get the win, while Ronny García took the loss. Juan Minaya had a save.

The easterners had six hits, but were only able to score on three occasions, with Gustavo Núñez standing out with a home run and a single, one run batted in and two runs scored.

The fifth game of the final will be played today at the Tetelo Vargas stadium in San Pedro de Macorís at 7:30 PM local time.
