Havana, February 20 (RHC)-- The first edition of the National Beach Volleyball Cup, 'Villa San Fernando de Nuevitas', will take place between the 25th and 28th in the north of the central-eastern Cuban city of Camagüey, with the participation of pairs of school and youth categories, in both sexes.

Athletes from the provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Holguin, Granma, Ciego de Avila, Las Tunas, Camaguey and Havana will take part in the event, although only the boys' and girls' school teams will be present.

Yadel Camilo Mestre, coach of the local junior men's team, informed ACN that the Nuevitas teams will also compete in the competition as guests, due to their technical level, the physical conditions of their players and their track record in competitions held in the territory.

In the competition, nine female and eight male pairs will compete in the school level, in addition to six female duos and eight male duos, which will compete in the youth category.

The teams will be organized by zones, and then will proceed to the system of crosses, and thus will determine the champion of the fight, developed in the context of the celebrations for the 194th anniversary of the founding of the Villa San Fernando de Nuevitas.

On February 28, in the morning, the final matches of the Cup are planned, which is sponsored by the municipal management of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder), the School of School Sports Initiation Cerro Pelado and the provincial volleyball commission.
