Havana, May 18 (ACN) -- The Villa Clara team knocked out Artemisa by a score of 10-0 in seven innings, and still has mathematical possibilities of getting the remaining ticket to the postseason of the National Baseball Series.

The Azucareros of Villa Clara hit 16 rockets, with Yosbel Borges, who went 5-3 with a triple and three RBIs.

The victory went to Javier Mirabal, who allowed few liberties against the Cazadores de Artemisa and pitched 6.0 innings with two singles and five strikeouts.

After this result, Villa Clara has a balance of 37-35 and would qualify for the playoffs if it wins the three remaining games: two against Artemisa and another one against Mayabeque.

In the other game on Tuesday, the already eliminated team from La Isla won 7-3 against Mayabeque, which already qualified, was limited to play with an alternative team.

For the Pirates, it is worth mentioning the good work of starter Dorvis Navarro, who threw five innings with two hits and five strikeouts, while Jonder Santamaría and Leonardo Urgellés hit home runs on offense.

This Wednesday, in the continuation of the postponed games of the qualifying phase, Villa Clara will face Artemisa again.
