Arlenis Sierra with Movistar

Havana, July 28 (RHC) - Cuban Arlenis Sierra, the best Cuban cyclist in recent years and currently enrolled in the Tour de France, received high praise from her club, Spain's Movistar Team.

"You don't know the value of Arlenis Sierra's work", highlighted on Twitter the Movistar Team, after the fourth stage of the prestigious Tour was disputed on Wednesday, in which the Cuban entered in 37th place and dropped one place, from 30th to 31st.

"The natural talent of the cyclist from Manzanillo (eastern Cuba) to position herself in the peloton and lead a leader: her ease in pedaling, her tactical intelligence are enormous," added the Spanish club.

Movistar has had to overcome difficult moments in the Tour de France and its leader, Dutch Olympic and world champion Annemiek Van Vleuten, has been affected by stomach problems that have made her make a supreme effort.

Dutch Marianne Vos, multiple Olympic and world champion in road, track and cyclo-cross, is still leading the race.

Thursday sees the queen stage, 180 km from Bar-le-Duc to Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, the longest distance in women's cycling in a long time, before heading for the decisive mountains in a competition contested by 24 multinational clubs over 1,033 km.
