Havana, May 17 (JIT) - The Cuban Football Association (AFC) announced a friendly match with Uruguay, a power in that sport in the world, in its second warm-up game prior to the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The Cuba-Uruguay clash will take place at Montevideo's mythical Centenario Stadium on June 20, a week before the Lions of the Caribbean make their Gold Cup debut against Guatemala.

"We worked hard to reach an agreement between the parties that would be profitable enough for both. At this moment we are only making the previous understanding official, as agreed with the Uruguayan Football Association.

In announcing the meeting, the president of the Cuban soccer association, Oliet Rodríguez, highlighted the excellent relations between the top soccer entities of both countries.

The match will be historic, since there are no known precedents of other encounters, beyond some matches with minor teams or clubs of the South American country.

The clash complements two days of luxury for the Cuban national team, which will first face Chile.
