Havana, September 5 (JIT)-- The president of INDER, Osvaldo Vento Montiller, visited three sports educational institutions on Monday, on the occasion of the start of the new school year.

In the morning, he participated in the opening ceremonies of the school year at the Eide Cerro Pelado and the Inés Luaces School of Physical Education Teachers, both in Camagüey.

There he participated in the recognition of outstanding students and teachers in the previous school year, including the 59th National School Games.

At the end of the afternoon, Vento Montiller arrived at the Eide Rafael Freyre Torres, in Guantánamo, where students, teachers and directors were waiting for him.

The head of the Cuban sports organization was interested in the conditions of the school and first talked with the youngest students, those from fourth to sixth grades.

He asked them about their first impressions of the school, their individual aspirations and family support. He then interacted with the chess players, whom he praised for their constant study and dedication.

Vento insisted on the importance of training high quality athletes, but above all of giving to society good young people, patriots committed to the country's project.

Finally, the head of INDER exchanged with the municipal directors of the sector on several essential issues, among them the completion of the cloisters and the implementation of strategies for baseball, soccer and chess.

Also part of the discussion was the attention to the main sportsmen of the territory, to which the greatest interest is given in the midst of the very complex current situation.

Four other groups of directors met in Holguin, Ciego de Avila, Pinar del Rio and Havana.
