Havana, January (JIT) - It is with deep sorrow that the Cuban sports press mourns the death of José Luis Anaya, an outstanding sports photojournalist who worked for decades for the Cuban Sports Institute (Inder).

Anaya covered important national and international events, such as world championships in several sports and the Olympic and Pan American Games, and stood out for the quality and discipline of his work, underlines the Jit newspaper in its digital edition.

For several years he directed the Photography Department of the Inder, a task from which he also supported the care of the valuable collections that are treasured there.

He always devoted special attention to baseball, the Cuban national sport, of which he left unforgettable photographs until his retirement in 2'16.

The Cuban press extends condolences to family and friends.
