Havana, Apr 28 (JIT) - Cuban wrestlers won six gold medals and one bronze medal in the III South Integration Cup, by invitation, held in Asuncion, Paraguay.

With this classic "beating", the squad of seven members of the national pre-selection, including two ladies, had no difficulty winning first place among nations.

As a result of the work led by the experienced coach Julio Mendieta, all of them will return with a medal.

The group was led by Yonat Véliz (LG, 67 kg), champion of the I Junior Pan American Games, followed by Maryuris Tamayo (LF, 62 kg), Carlos Méndez (LL, 65 kg), Juset Martínez (LL, 74 kg), Eliel Carrera (LL, 86 kg), and Esteban Mármol (LG, 60 kg), all of them crowned.

Shenill Valdés (LF, 53 kg) finished with bronze.

The young Cubans are getting ready to participate in the upcoming II Junior Pan American Games, to be held in Asuncion, to which 14 have qualified.

As part of this conditioning, they will remain until June 10 in Paraguay, participating in a camp that will allow them to exchange with athletes from other countries.
