Laurent Finishes with Bronze in the Medellin Swimming Tournament

Havana, May 18 (JIT) Cuba's Laurent Estrada finished with a bronze medal in the 50-meter freestyle in the closing swim of the Medellin 2025 Pan American Aquatics Championship.

With this closing, she added five medals (two silver and three bronze) in the same number of days on her way to the Junior Pan American Games of Asuncion 2025, which will take place from August 9 to 23.

In her last presentation, hLaurent finished the distance in 26.98 seconds in a golden final for the Colombian favorite Isabella Bedoya (26.09) and silver for Argentina's Lara Fernandez (26:80).

Laurent won her silver medals in the 100 freestyle (57.61 seconds) and in the same distance in the backstroke (1:04.07 minutes), the latter being her best time this year.

The other bronze medals were obtained in 200 backstroke (2:22.30) and 100 butterfly (1:02.72), to which she added a fourth place in 50 backstroke, in which she improved her personal best by achieving 30.17.

Cuba will be represented in the 10 km open water race, on the 23rd, by Dayamí Gutiérrez, from the capital city, with the main objective of fighting for a place in Asunción 2025.
