Russia, Jun 21 (RHC) Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernishenko confirmed today that his country's athletes were allowed to participate in international competitions in 31 different sports.

"International federations have already authorized our athletes to participate in 31 disciplines," Chernishenko said Saturday on the sidelines of the sessions of the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Russian and Belarusian athletes were banned from participating in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, except under certain conditions and in a neutral status. Only 15 Russian citizens participated in the games.

The Winter Olympics will be held in Milan and Ortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, from February 6 to 22, 2026.
