
Dota 2 National Tournament
Havana, July 24 (RHC) - The final of the national Dota 2 student qualifying tournament was won by the Ignite team, made up of players from the Manuel Fajardo University of Physical Culture and Sports Sciences (UCCFD) and two foreign gamers.
The team will represent the island in the continental event, seeking a spot that will take them to the 2025 Moscow Open Student Electronic Sports Tournament in Russia.
As Javier Vidal, president of the Cuban Electronic Sports Association (Adec), explained, the qualifying event took place over two weekends. First, a group stage was completed. Later, the eight best teams played in the playoffs to determine the champion of the tournament.
Twenty-one teams participated in the national tournament, with the largest presence of students from Villa Clara, Camagüey, Isla de la Juventud, the University of Computer Science (UCI), the Technological University of Havana (Cujae), and the UCCFD.
Mixed teams, made up of players from various universities, also competed.
