New York, November 21 (RHC)-- An 18-month-long investigation by The New York Times has revealed the U.S.-led military coalition is killing far more civilians in Iraq than it has acknowledged.
The Pentagon claims its air war against the self-proclaimed Islamic State has killed just 89 civilians. But an on-the-ground investigation by reporters Azmat Khan and Anand Gopal found the actual civilian death toll may be 31 times higher than the U.S. is admitting.
According to the report: “In terms of civilian deaths, this may be the least transparent war in recent American history.”
