La Paz, August 6 (RHC)-- Bolivian President Luis Arce led this Friday the celebrations for the 196th anniversary of the proclamation of independence in the country, delivering a message to the nation that focussed on the importance of the Plurinational State and the unity of the country.

According to local media, to honor the date, a session of honor was held in the new headquarters of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly (Parliament), where the president delivered his message.

Earlier, before the celebrations, Deputy Minister of Communications Gabriela Alcón confirmed that the head of state would deliver a message to the nation and not a report.  She stressed that it will be "a message for the first anniversary after we recovered democracy" and regarding the annual report, she specified that "he will do it when the year (of administration) is completed", said Alcón in a press conference.
