Caracas, December 13 (RHC)-- Bolivian Vice President David Choquehuanca met this Sunday with his Venezuelan counterpart, Delcy Rodríguez, to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

"We received and greet on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro the vice president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, David Choquehuanca, who brought to Venezuela his message of integration and brotherhood," Delcy Rodríguez announced through a message on her Twitter account.

The Bolivian vice-president arrived over the weekend in Venezuela for an official visit to consolidate regional integration mechanisms and strengthen bilateral relations.

After his arrival at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, the Bolivian vice president highlighted the importance of strengthening the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA- TCP), whose summit will be held this Tuesday in Havana.

"It is important to work on (regional) integration to defend our sovereignty and our natural resources, to govern ourselves (...), only united we will be able to confront capitalism and colonialism", Choquehuanca specified to Venezuelan local television.

In addition to his call for the integration of the peoples of Latin America, he criticized the plundering of natural resources, the division and how the peoples have been disarmed.

David Choquehuanca was received by the Venezuelan Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Latin America, Rander Peña and the Bolivian Ambassador in Caracas, Sebastián Michel.
