Mexico City, January 11 (RHC)-- Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) will establish as part of his work agenda this 2022, a tour of Central and South American countries, according to an official note from the Presidency.

"I still do not have the time defined, but I am interested in going to some Central American countries, our neighboring brothers, because I have been to the United States three times: once to New York and twice to Washington.  So, I am missing the south", said the Mexican president.

López Obrador also indicated that as part of his tour of Central American countries he will pay an official visit to the recently elected president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro.

"She will be very well received, but I am thinking of making a tour this year to Central America and I would go to visit her," said AMLO, thanking the message sent by President Xiomara Castro Sarmiento, for her intention to visit Mexico.

Likewise, the Mexican president emphasized that his Government adheres to the respect for International Law in accordance with the history of the country.   "Mexico is a free country and its foreign policy is well defined in Article 89 of our Constitution," he recalled.

The Mexican president also remarked that he will announce new appointments of men and women at the head of embassies and consulates and that he will head the Meeting with Ambassadors and Consuls (REC) 2022 at the National Palace.
