Chilean government will announce new security measures

 

Havana, April 6 (RHC) The Chilean government will announce this Thursday new security measures after the death of Carabineros corporal Daniel Palma, as a result of a shot to the head during a police procedure in the Santiago de Chile.

 

The Minister of Government spokesperson, Camila Vallejo, said when leaving a meeting at the Government headquarters, that in the morning they will announce the set of actions to deal with the situation of insecurity that the country is going through. Vallejo commented that the measures will make it possible to firmly and intelligently face what is being experienced in the region.

 

The official indicated that President Gabriel Boric requested to redouble efforts and work to deal with acts of insecurity and violence in the South American country. She added that crimes are becoming more violent.

 

The government spokesperson sent condolences to the family of the first corporal of the Carabineros, Daniel Palma.

 

The meeting called by President Boric at the Palacio de la Moneda lasted several hours and was attended by Carolina Tohá, Minister of the Interior; Luis Cordero, Minister of Justice; Macarena Lobos, Minister of the Secretary General of the Presidency; and Mario Marcel, Minister of the Treasury.
