President Arce urges the police to lead the fight against femicide

La Paz, Jun 28 (RHC) President Luis Arce on Tuesday urged the Bolivian Police on its 197th anniversary to lead the fight against femicides while ensuring the safety and welfare of all the people.

The head of State assured, “the Police must be the one that fights the most against femicides. We know that the clarification of these outrageous cases also depends on the Public Prosecutor’s Office and Justice, but the Police must be a decisive factor in the fight against femicide.”

Arce informed that during the current year, 43 cases had been reported across the country, of which the police force had solved 40, a figure that represents 93% effectiveness, in addition to arresting 54 people involved.

Most of these crimes against women occurred in the departments of Santa Cruz, La Paz, Cochabamba, and Potosi, in decreasing order. (Source: PL)
