Chinese security detected a US spy in the military industry sector

Beijing, August 12 (RHC) China revealed details on Friday about the arrest of a spy recruited by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), who provided sensitive information about the country's military development.

According to a statement from the Ministry of State Security, the Chinese citizen surnamed Zeng, born in July 1971, was an employee of a military-industrial group and played an important role related to classified work.

According to the report, during the period when Zeng was studying in Italy sponsored by his company, a US embassy official named "Seth" took the initiative to get acquainted with him.

Both began sharing different leisure moments until Seth revealed his identity as a CIA personnel in Rome, promising rewards and the relocation of Zeng and his family to the United States.

The Chinese citizen accepted the proposal, signed a spying agreement, and underwent assessments and training provided by the US side, the text reported. Once in China, the spy secretly met with CIA personnel on several occasions, provided sensitive information, and received funds.

The investigation indicated that the national security department obtained substantial evidence of Zeng's espionage activities and took legal measures to eliminate the threat he posed.

Diplomatic relations between Beijing and Washington are at their worst point in history, despite several high-ranking officials from the Joe Biden administration recently visiting China with the alleged intention of easing tensions in the relationship.

Despite the agenda and discourse of those government representatives, the United States continues to confront the Asian nation on sensitive issues such as Taiwan or the economic war. (Source: PL)
