United Nations, November 17 (RHC)-- The United Nations has censured Israel for using excessive force and carrying out summary executions against Palestinians as the regime continues its acts of aggression in the occupied territories.

The UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian Territories, Makarim Wibisono, and the expert on summary executions, Christof Heyns, on Monday raised the alarm over crimes committed by the Tel Aviv regime.

“Cases of excessive use of force by Israeli forces against Palestinians, including some which appear to amount to summary executions, continue to be reported," said the UN experts. They also called for an end to the violence and “strict compliance with international law."

The comments came after Israeli forces killed two young Palestinians when they stormed the Qalandiya refugee camp in the occupied West Bank to demolish the home of Palestinian Mohammed Abu Shahin early on Monday. Hundreds of residents in the camp hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at Israeli forces, prompting the latter to open fire on them.

The UN experts, meanwhile, urged authorities to launch “independent, thorough, prompt and impartial investigations into all suspected cases of extra-judicial, arbitrary and summary executions, and to provide compensation to the victims or their families.”
