Havana, January 13 (RHC)—On Wednesday, Peace negotiators representing the government of Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia- People's Army (FARC-EP) began a new round of talks in Havana. This aims to put an end to the over five decades-long armed conflict in that South American country.

Spokespersons of the Patriotic March Movement of Columbia said that agreeing on a bilateral, definitive ceasefire should be the top priority of the current round of peace talks, arguing that enough progress has been achieved already and the political atmosphere favors that outcome.

Both sides have expressed their hope to meet the agreed-upon deadline of March 23rd to sign a final peace accord.
