Havana, October 29 (RHC-PL), --  With a demonstration for the defense of sovereignty, Cuba will join the continental event for Democracy and against Neoliberalism on November 4, local press reported on Saturday.

That day, representatives of civil society will take the Ignacio Agramonte Square at the University of Havana by storm. This square has become the epicenter of demonstrations in support of Cuba's revolutionary process.

In addition to Cuba, similar events have been confirmed in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Canada, Colombia, the United States, Panama, Nicaragua, Barbados and Chile, among other countries.

The regional call was made under the slogan 'Not one step back!' 'The peoples continue fighting for our integration, self-determination and sovereignty, against free trade and transnationals!'.

According to the press, the organizations comprising the Cuban Chapter of the Coordination of Social Movements towards ALBA-TCP are in charge of the preparations for the demonstration.

Among them, Granma mentioned the Organization of Solidarity with the Peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America; the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Center; the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and the Cuban Movement for Peace.

Other cities such as Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and San Salvador were called to host the continental event for Democracy and against Neoliberalism, which runs from late October to early November, the official newspaper noted.
